Expressions of Interest

August, 2018

We would like to thank all those who attended the opening reception of the very first art show of the Cowichan Valley Public Art Gallery Society! The show continues until Tuesday, August 14, so don’t miss your chance to see the FIRST EVER art show hosted by our group! Our thanks go to the Cowichan Valley Arts Council (CVAC) for their very generous support in putting on this show. Our group plans to host a number of similar exhibitions every year in rented space until we achieve our goal of establishing a permanent home.
“Contemporary sculpture can be found in many forms ranging from solid carved stone to ephemeal textiles.  “Expressions of Interest” examines ideas of what form sculpture may take, and what ideas can be presented through these different forms.”   – Jock Hildebrand, Curatorial notes

Letter of support from Alistair MacGregor, MP, Cowichan-Malahat-Langford.

“This proposed Community Arts Centre would be a valuable asset to our region and its communities, helping our growing tourism industry.  I trust that the Cowichan Valley Public Art Gallery Society will be successful in their request for funding for this worthwhile project.”
