Cowichan Public Art Gallery Cleans up in preparation for the First Annual Summer Art Fair

Anticipating the launch of Duncan’s first Summer Art Fair, the Cowichan Public Art Gallery Society recently treated its Green Door Building and grounds to a thorough cleanup. Kendall Gross, President of Island Savings Credit Union, CPAG’s primary business sponsor, led a crew of credit union volunteers in helping members of the CPAG board to power wash the building’s exterior and and laboriously remove grass from the gravel. A BBQ with food donated from Thrifty Foods in Duncan completed the productive Saturday morning.

Now that the area has been readied, artists are invited to apply to participate in the CPAG Summer Art Fair on the grounds of the Green Door, every Saturday from July to the end of September.

They can call Chris Warren at (250) 515-1547 orJock Hildebrand at (250) 215-2823 for more information.

CPAG’s purpose is to advance the public’s appreciation of the arts by producing public art exhibitions, presentations, and arts events, and by providing a forum for qualified artists to exhibit, present, or perform their artistic works through participation in such events. CPAG is moving forward rapidly with the inauguration of its capital campaign.

The CPAG Project of bringing a major public art gallery to the valley is moving forward rapidly with the capital campaign just getting off the ground.

Artists are invited to join in the CPAG Summer arts festival by calling Chris Warren at 250 515-1547 or Jock Hildebrand at 250 215-2823 for more information.
